Local community organisations in Ryan will benefit from the announcement of successful recipients of the Volunteer Grants initiative, Federal Member for Ryan Jane Prentice MP said today.

“We are very fortunate in Ryan to be home to so many volunteers from various community and not-for-profit organisations. They make an incredible contribution and I am delighted four local groups have been successful in securing Federal funding.

“I was pleased to provide letters of support for some of the successful grants, it is always great news to see Federal funding coming our way from Canberra.

In our Electorate four organisations will benefit from the Grants, they are:

1. Queensland Race Walking Club Inc, Toowong
2. St Vincent De Paul Society of Queensland, Grovely
3. St Vincent De Paul Society of Queensland, Mitchelton
4. Mandalay Progress Association Inc, Fig Tree Pocket

Mrs Prentice said these grants will enable local volunteer organisations to continue to give so much back to the community.

“Often the work of local volunteer groups is held back because of a lack of resources and financial assistance. These Grants will go a long way in enabling the vital work of our volunteer organisations to continue and grow,” Mrs Prentice concluded.
