Prentice announces Saluting Their Service grants for Enoggera

Veterans and ex-service men and women in Ryan will benefit from successful Saluting Their Service grant applications announced this morning for the Enoggera area, Federal Member for Ryan Jane Prentice MP said today.

“The Saluting Their Service grants promote appreciation and understanding of the role that those who have served in shaping the nation, in war and in peace operations.

In our Electorate two veterans’ organisations will benefit from just under $5000 in funding.  They are:

1. The Royal Australian Regiment Association of Queensland, to replace the 700 memorial Australian National Flags at the National Memorial Walk at Enoggera Barracks. ($1815)

2. National Malaya & Borneo Veterans’s Association of Australia Inc, for a memorial service to commemorate the 45th anniversary of the cessation of the Malaysian Emergency. ($3000)

Mrs Prentice said these grants will enable appropriate acknowledgement and respect for the roles played by men and women from our local community who are serving or have served our nation.

“Our local community will benefit from the funding announced today and I am pleased the Federal Government has listened and confirmed these successful grants for our community.
