Services over the NBN network are switching on from next month for more than 6000 premises across Anstead, Bellbowrie, Brookfield, Kenmore Hills, Moggill, Pinjarra Hills and Pullenvale.
With the increase in the availability of the NBN in the Ryan electorate, I want to let residents know to keep an eye out for a letter from the NBN outlining all of the information they should need ahead of making the switch.
The NBN network is not just about the internet – it is your landline telephone as well. I stress that it is critical that you contact your device providers for any other landline services such as medical alarms, eftpos, fire and lift, or fax machines to ensure your transition experience is the best possible.
For residents who encounter difficulties with the availability of the NBN at their residence, or who have complaints about the installation and construction process, you can contact the NBN directly at firstname.lastname@example.org, email@example.com or by phoning 1800 687 626.
Transition to the NBN network is not automatic. I remind local residents to contact their preferred service provider and place an order to move their landline telephone and internet services over to the network once it becomes ready for service.
A few local Bellbowrie residents have recently contacted my office indicating their interest in an NBN ‘Area Switch’ to transition their network connection to FTTP.
Those interested can join other like-minded ‘Area Switch’ residents at the local Facebook page 4070 NBN Community Group. Further information about the ‘Area Switch’ process is available at http://www.nbnco.com.au/connect-home-or-business/technology-choice-program/area-switch.html
